This Cookie Policy explains how ServiceChanger B.V. ("ServiceChanger", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies on servicechanger.com. It tells you which cookies we set, why we use them, the legal basis for using them, and how you can control them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (such as your phone or computer) when you visit it. They let a website remember information about your visit, such as your language choice or whether you are signed in. We also use the word "cookies" in this policy to refer to similar technologies, such as local storage, where they perform the same function.

Which cookies we use

We use strictly necessary cookies only. These cookies are required for the website and the application to work and to keep you signed in securely. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking cookies. The cookies we set are:

1. NEXT_LOCALE:Remembers your language choice (Dutch or English) so the site is shown in your preferred language. It is set for up to twelve months and is marked SameSite=Lax and, on secure connections, Secure.
2. accessToken:Keeps you signed in to the ServiceChanger application after you log in. It is an HttpOnly cookie, meaning it cannot be read by scripts in your browser, and it is marked Secure and SameSite=Lax. It is only set once you sign in.
3. Other sign-in cookies:When you are signed in, the application may set a small number of additional strictly necessary session cookies to manage your authenticated session and Microsoft Entra ID sign-in (for example secureEncryptedData, encryptedData, and msToken). These exist only to keep your session working and are removed when you log out.

No tracking or marketing cookies

We do not place analytics, performance, advertising, profiling, or social media cookies, and we do not allow third parties to place such cookies through our website. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

Legal basis

Under the Dutch Telecommunications Act (which implements the EU ePrivacy Directive) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), strictly necessary cookies that are needed to provide a service you have requested do not require prior consent. We rely on this exemption for the cookies described above. Where any of these cookies process personal data, our lawful basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website and application, and, for keeping you signed in, the performance of our agreement with you.

How to control cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and warn you before they are stored. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, blocking them may stop the site from remembering your language or may sign you out, and the site may not work correctly. We do not need a separate cookie tool to switch off optional cookies, because we do not use any.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
